| Elaine M. Kaptein, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. She is board certified in Endocrinology and Nephrology. Her main research interest is the study of altered thyroid hormone metabolism in patients with nonthyroidal illnesses and altered nutritional states. She has authored about 100 scientific papers. She is actively involved in the American Thyroid Association, and is currently on the Program Committee. |
