Posology and method of administration

Initial dose:

1/2 Jodthyrox tablet daily. Depending on age, body weight and individual requirement the dose is raised after 2 - 4 weeks of the maintenance dose.

Maintenance dose:

Adults and adolescents:

1 tablet daily. During pregnancy 1 - 1 1/2 tablets daily.

Jodthyrox should be taken in a single dose in the morning on an empty stomach, half an hour before breakfast, preferably with a little liquid.

The tablets are to be taken for a period ranging from several months up to throughout the patient's life.

Contraindications

Hyperthyroidism of any origin. Autonomous areas and focal autonomy.

Furthermore genuine iodine allergy and dermatitis herpetiformis (Duhring's disease).
