Lazlo Hegedüs is an associate professor of Internal
Medicine and Endocrinology at Odense University Hospital, Denmark. He is the author of
approximately 150 journal articles mainly dealing with various clinical aspects of thyroid
disorders. His main areas of research have been diagnostic imaging, regulation of thyroid
size, radioiodine treatment and lately genetic and environmental aspects of thyroid
disease as investigated in Danish twins. Within these fields of clinical thyroidology he
is supervising several PhD students. He will be authoring textbook chapters in the
forthcoming issue of Endocrinology, Thyroid, and Oxford Textbook of Endocrinology.
